In late fall I traveled to the Dolomites for a month of hiking, exploring, and photography. Tre Cime di Lavarado was easily the best hike I did out there. The views were extraordinary, and even though it was a tough hike, all I wanted to do see what was around each bend in the trail. Over every hill and around each corner there was a new, mind blowing vista. This particular moment was about half way into my hike. I looked back (always look back, despite what they say in the movies!) to see the sun come out of the clouds just enough to illuminate a few hikers and the mountains in the background. I made this into a 40×60” print for myself, which hangs over my bed in Long Island City.
