In late fall I traveled to the Dolomites to hike, explore, and take photographs. For a month, I hiked across northern Italy, yet Tre Cime di Lavarado was the best hike I did out there. The views were extraordinary, and even though I was exhausted after a few hours, all I wanted to do was keep going. Over every hill and around each corner there was a new, mind blowing vista. This particular moment was about half way into my hike. I looked back (always look back, despite what they say in the movies!) to see the sun come out of the clouds just enough to illuminate a few hikers and the beautiful mountains in the background. I made this into a 40×60” print for myself, which is still in my old bedroom in Long Island City.
